Ulhas river estuary is one of the important water bodies in Thane district. Entire stretch of estuary was arbitrarily divided into three zones. Physical and chemical variables of water were monitored month-wise in the year 2004-2005. In the present study the entire stretch of estuary showed high values of BOD, PO4-P, NO3-N, Suspended solids and hypoxia suggesting deterioration of the estuary.Item AVIFAUNAL DIVERSITY IN AND AROUND VIDYA PRASARAK MANDAL CAMPUS, THANE, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA.(JBNB Volume 5(1), 2019-01-11) Kurve, Poonam; Joshi, Ashutosh; Pejaver, MadhuriItem Bioactive Molecule of Onion Leaves Act as Inhibitor of PPO.(Asian J. Research Chem, 2012-01) Goswami - Giri, Anita; Sawant, NehaBioactive molecules of onion leaves exhibited potent anti polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activity; which was purified on silica gel by using solvents. Purification profile procured 3 and 2 active butanol and methanol fractions respectively. Reticence of PPO activity was observed within range of 12 to 14 min when it was treated with active fractions. Characterization of it was conceded by physical constant, UV, IR and TLC. It reputes that, active hydroxyl group attached to the ring structures of PPO, which quench free radical by donating hydrogen in the active hydroxyl group of PPO, confirming inhibition of pigmentation reaction in vitro. Bioactive molecules from onion leaves exhibited various types of inhibition against oxidation of L-DOPA and L-tyrosine and it was compared with classical inhibitors of PPO. Significance of bioactive molecules is to explore for drugs designing, understanding of ligand–receptor interactions, environmental problems and it is simple alternative for the inhibition of PPO.Item Biocompost - A Niche For Insect Diversity(Proceeding : Lake 2010: Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change., 2010) Pejaver, M.K.; Gujarathi, G.Item Biodiversity study of satpuda National Park, Madhai, Distrcit, Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh(JBNB (Vol.1) Issue 1 January 2013., 2013) Pejaver, M.K.; Kurve, P.; Borkar, M.; Shenai, D.Item Biomethanation : Solution to Urban Waste Management in Mumbai.(2016-10) Khanolkar, Chinmay,; Pejaver, M.K.Item Brain, Mind and Conciousness – an evolutionary approach(proceedings of the International seminar on Mind, Brain and Consciousness’ pp 139-141, 2010., 2010) Pejaver, M.K.Item Butterflies of B. N. Bandodkar College Campus, Thane, Maharashtra(Journal of Insect Environment. Vol. 10(3), 104-105, 2004, 2004) Kurve, P.; Pejaver, M.K.Item Characteristic Change in Activity of Lantana camara Tripene.(Asian Journal of Chemistry, 2017) KURKUTE, NITA V.; GOSWAMI-GIRI, ANITA S.Item CHRONOSPATIAL FREQUENCY OF FISHING GEARS USED ALONG(International Conference on Ecosystem Services of Wetlands-Ardrabhoomi:2016, 2016-10) Rathod, Sudesh D.; Patil, Nandini N.Item Cluster analysis of Physico - chemical parameters from Thane lakes in Maharashtra(Nature Environ. and Poll. Mangroves, being one of the primary features of coastal areas have been of great interest for scientists and of astonishment for layman. This paper, examines the biological activities of extracts, physiological properties and histological history of each of the species, Along with the detailed morphological comparison among the species, the paper attempts to emphasize and create awareness of the potential mangroves and on its much needed conservation, for the welfare of mankind and ecosystem.
