Dermal Anatomy Of Some Species Of Genus Aerides Lour. From Maharashtra
    (2011-11) Mulgaonkar, M.S.
Present paper deals with study on dermal anatomy of three species of Aerides Lour. viz. Aerides ringense Fisher., Aerides maculosum Lindl; and Aerides crispa Lindl. from Maharashtra. In present study it has been observed that stomata in all the there species are of paracytic type. Stomata are mostly flushed with the epidermis as is true in majority of Orchids.

Dermal anatomy of some species of genus Dendrobium Sw. from Maharashtra
    (2011-11) Mulgaonkar, M.S.
Present paper deal with study on dermal anatomy of four species of Dendrobium Sw. namely - Dendrobium microbulbon A. Rich., D. mabalae Gammine., Dedrobium ovatum (Willd) Kranzl., and D. barbatulum Lindl. In present investigation it has been observed that stomata are anomocytic and flushed with the epidermis as is true in majority of orchids7. Trichomes were presnet on abaxial side of D. microbulbon and absent in other three species. Winter et. al,1 and Vij et al.,9 had reported restricted occurrence of trichomes on the lower epidermis in orchids. All the four species showed hypostomatic condition.

Palynological observations of some corticolous orchids from Maharashtra under SEM
    (2011-11) Mulgaonkar, M.S.; DABHADE, G.T.
Palynological study of three different taxa, viz., Eria dalzellii Lindl., Rhynochostylist retusa (L) BI. and Oberonia brunoniana Wight using SEM has been made. All these three taxa have monoaperturate condition with ring-like annulus along with uneven disrupted projections. They also exhibit variation in density of excrescence. Dense rugulate excrescence is noted in R. retusa (L) Blume and sparse rugulae in E. dalzellii Lindl. But intermediate type of density of rugulate excrescence is observed in O. brunoniana Wight.

Sem Studies On The Observations Of Pollinia Of Two Terricolous Orchids From Maharashtra
    (2011-12) Mulgaonkar, M.S.
Present paper deals with the study of Pollinia of two terricolous Orchids viz. Habenaria grandifloriformis Blatt and McCann and Habenaria gibsonii Hook. f. under_SEM. Observations indicate that there is a close resemblance in the shape, size and structure of the Pollinia of these two Orchids despite of much diversity in their morpho structure.

Some observations on the pollinia of the three species of corticolous orchid of the genus Aerides Lour under SEM.
    (2011-11) Mulgaonkar, M.S.; Dabhade, G.T.
Three species of the genus Aerides Lour namely Aerides ringense Fisher, A. maculosum Lindl. and A. crispum Lindl. were studied in relation to their pollinia under SEM. Viscous hairy structures were observed on the surface of pollinia of all the three species. It appears that the glandular hairs having elasto-viscin might be helping to bind the pollen-grains together and create moisture near the stigmatic surface for the purpose of pollination.

Studies On Dermal Anatomy Of Three Corticolous Orchids From India.
    (2011-11) Mulgaonkar, M.S.
In present investigation it has been observed that stomata are paracytic. Stomata are slightly raised in Dendrobium transparens. Wall. ex. Lindl; and Vanda tessallata (Roxb) Hook, f. ex. G. Don but flushed in Cottonia pendunularis (Lindl). Reich. f. Hypostomatic condition has been observed in Dendrobium transparens Wall. ex. Lindl; and Cottonia peduncularis (Lindl). Reich. f. whereas amphistomatic condition has been observed in Vanda tessallata (Roxb).

    (2012-01) Mulgaonkar, M.S.
Study of Pollinia of three different taxa of orchids viz. Eria dalzellii Lindl., Rhynochostylis retusa (L) Bl. and Oberonia brunoniana Wight using SEM is made. It reveals interesting features as well as variations in shape and cellular structure of pollinium.

Study of pollinium of three beautiful Indian Orchids under electron microscopy
    (2011-11) Mulgaonkar, M.S.
Palynological observations of three corticolous Orchids. namely, Dendrobium transparans Wall es Lindl. Vanda tessellata (Rosh) Hook. f. ex G. Don and Cottonia enduncularis (Lindl.) Reich. f. were made under SEM with reference to the pollinia. Observations indicate that these pollinia vary in their shape, size, diameter and cellular structure. Connecting threads of elasto-visin were observed in Cottonia peduncularis (Lindl). Reich. f.
